ROCA FOXXY'S TONIC...
Sire of High Selling Bull 2012 Iowa Beef Expo

Around the farm we just call him "Bubba". His first calf crop was so impressive that I didn't even bother AI'ing cows last spring. Only 6 calves were born in 2011 and they were head turners. Bubba's first bull calf was ROCA Big Red Badger, the $7500 sale topper at the Iowa Royal Shorthorn sale recently at the Iowa Beef Expo His first heifer calf, ROCA Revival Eva, was out of a 1st calf heifer and went to Illinois for $5000. ROCA Big Red Daisy is enjoying the Texas winter placing 2nd in class at both San Antonio and San Angelo. The steer out of my Myrtle Bo cow is being shown this summer here in Iowa and Shania's heifer is in my replacement pen. The 2012 babies continue to hit the ground running and this calf crop looks to out shine last year.

Semen is now available on this exciting new herdsire.

Shorthorns have been a part of our family since the mid '90s when I bought a steer for my nephew, Derek Orth of Lancaster, Wisconsin. Derek began growing his herd while working on his family's dairy farm. I bought my first shorthorns in 2004 from Gene Elston and K-KIM. I bought another show heifer from Gene in 2005. She went on to win several shows including Champion ShorthornPlus at the Iowa Beef Expo. I added two more cows from Schrag's in 2005 and another from K-KIM in 2008. In 2007, I teamed up with Dennis Brady to purchase a Myrtle Bo heifer from Sullivan's Maternal Legends sale. In 2008, Derek's family built a 200 cow dairy barn and he decided he just didn't have time for the Shorthorns while trying to milk 200 jerseys 3 times a day and the never-ending other chores. I bought what was left of Derek's ''Big Red'' herd and brought them to Iowa. I am now up to fifteen cows. Most of my cows carry the SULL, SS, CF, KKIM, & V8 prefixes. I think its a pretty good place to build from.
Thanks to Brady for all the help and to Arlan & Sue Hollenbeck for the continued support and confidence in the FUTURE!!!
